What is BMW?

BMW (Bayerische Motoren Werke) is a German car manufacturer founded in 1916. The company's beginnings were marked by the production of aircraft engines during the First World War. After the war, BMW had to switch its production to other areas and started producing motorbikes and cars in the 1920s.

In the 1930s BMW expanded greatly and developed some legendary models such as the BMW 328 and the BMW 328 Touring Roadster. During the Second World War, BMW again produced aircraft engines, but also motorbikes and cars for the German military.

After the war, BMW began rebuilding and producing motorbikes. In the 1950s, the production of cars was resumed and some successful models such as the BMW 507 and the BMW Isetta were produced.

In the 1960s, BMW began producing sporty saloons and established itself as a manufacturer of vehicles with high performance and excellent driving dynamics. It was also at this time that the BMW logo was designed, consisting of a blue and white propeller, reminiscent of the company's aviation roots.

In the 1970s and 1980s, BMW continued to expand, opening new plants in Germany and abroad. In the 1990s, BMW expanded its range to include SUVs and also began producing electric vehicles.

Today, BMW is one of the largest car manufacturers in the world with a wide range of models from small cars to luxury vehicles. BMW is also known for its advanced technology and innovative design concepts.
